Atlanta “Not So Big house” Almost Complete
One of our most efficient homes we’ve designed yet, this custom home in Brookhaven, was designed with “Not So Big House” strategies. The lot for the Atlanta Not So Big House is in a changing neighborhood. This neighborhood has been replacing smaller dilapidated homes with several new homes, either built or currently under construction. Our concept for the southern colonial vernacular home was to position it on this prominent corner lot to look as if it had been there for dec

Brookhaven Custom Home Progress
The construction is taking off on a custom home we designed in Brookhaven, off Lanier Drive. The exterior is almost complete, with only the front porch columns left to install. Trim has now begun on the interior. Seven years ago, we designed this house for a different lot but never built it. In 2011, after purchasing a new property, the client came back to us to help adapt the original design. We then got busy, tweaking the plans and elevations as needed for the new lot. The

Atlanta “Not So Big House” Design
This custom “Not so Big House” design has a great story behind it. Located on a tight corner lot in the Lynwood park neighborhood of Brookhaven, the concept behind the design is a home that looks as if it has been here for decades. Additionally, it appears as if the neighborhood developed around it. The Home Design A southern facing front porch orients the house towards the corner and creates a side entry porch from the east facade similar to a Charleston home. A tight budge
