SMART SPACES
- Better floor plans. Often people looking for a new place to live find what is available in the marketplace does not work for them. Many times—hopefully before they buy, but often the realization comes too late—they discover interiors with wasted space, or rooms with so many doors and openings that there is not any wall space for furniture or artwork. They find spaces that simply do not work. What defines the opposite, or “smart spaces,” to Jones Pierce is the ability for the client to place furniture or equipment as intended, and to have the space function properly for them.
- Better spaces. Spaces that don’t work extend beyond the floor plan. Multi-family projects today are fraught with chopped up ceilings having large bulkheads or soffits protruding into or running across ceilings as if an afterthought; lacking proper planning and integration. Jones Pierce starts all design development of projects coordinating with engineers or major subcontractors to integrate the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with the structural framing and desired architectural envelope to ensure cohesive design.
- Higher value. Jones Pierce’s design process leads to carefully thought out plans that meet with favorable response from those who will live in these spaces. Our clients benefit from the intangible value of a better space to live or work, which in turn leads to a desired tangible benefit—enhanced property value. Multi-family clients have benefited from our ability to coordinate with their brokers to understand the targeted market for whom the project is to appeal, and successfully design the project to receive positive feedback—and rapid sales/rentals with minimum marketing investment. Likewise, our single-family clients are ahead of the game, gaining a more rapid return on their investments, with an immediate edge in the resale market.
