Currently in the Design Development phase, this north Georgia mountain home in Clarkesville takes cues from the traditional southern barn vernacular found in the area and merges it with touches of modern design and technology. The goal of the pier design is to limit site disturbance and grading and perch the home high up into the tree tops. The simple material choices and building shape was also chosen to keep construction costs down and provide for a low maintenance exterior.

Scheme two uses the typical construction method seen in this area and puts the house in the hill rather than on piers.
